At OSS, we strive to be the best early co-founder you could have. Not the most comfortable one — the best one.
Here is what that means concretely.
Joining OSS is not just capital. You get a full founding stack:
Phase 1 — The first 12 weeks: mutual evaluation.
The first 12 weeks are a test — for both of us. You will be assessed as a founder: your judgment, your speed, your capacity to learn and execute under pressure. We will evaluate honestly whether this is a partnership we want to commit to for the long term. This is not a trial you pass by saying the right things. It is a genuine assessment of fit, and we will tell you clearly what we see — including if the answer is no.
Phase 2 — Minority co-founder for the long haul.
Once we move forward together, OSS operates as a minority co-founder. We hold strong opinions, and we will share them fully — with all the knowledge, network, and pattern recognition we have. But we do not make decisions on your behalf. You hold the steering wheel. We challenge, advise, connect, and support. The company is yours.
We are not a passive investor. We are not a controlling one. We are your founding investor. Keyword : founding.
It means we show up for the hard conversations, not just the victories. We will not soften feedback to protect the relationship. We will always be honest, always be ethical, and we will always treat you as the person responsible for making the final call.
A few things we want to be explicit about:
