OSS is a studio specialized in operations. It is full of builders and we have a track record of starting 30 companies, launching 22, and 11 series A and 4 series B.

Statistically, that means that you’re about 10 times as likely to reach 5 to 10 million ARR compared to benchmark.

A (sadly) common mistake is that the processes, pre-study of the spaces, and resources at your disposal mean the journey will be linear, and easier.

It’s just plain wrong.

  1. The journey will still have multiple elements of chaos to it.
  2. It’s probably going to be harder than doing it alone.

About 1 : the process and pursuit of excellence of OSS are meant to accelerate towards finding product market fit. There will be mishaps, and the road is not linear. If you’re looking to launch a company without that element, then OSS is not the right fit for you.

About 2 : We’re constantly pushing ourselves (the OSS team), and the founders (you), to do more, faster, with a ever-increasing level of exigence. It means you’re probably going to have feedbacks, the journey will reveal in your shortcomings and there will be hard moments. But our experience is very clear : the harder you push yourself during the process, the easier it is at the end. Not asking the right questions during the times when you have customers, some money in the bank inevitably leads to hard times. Asking the right questions, being hard on the model and on all behaviors during the “good times” makes it incredibly easier when hard times come.
